Hungry town

As we’ve got an appointment tonight, I took my wife out for her birthday last night. At least in this area, Monday nights are not usually a busy night at restaurants.
They just opened a Not your average Joe’s near us and my wife wanted to try it.
We got there, and it was packed. 30+ minute wait.
We decided we were too hungry to wait, so would go off to one of our favorite places, O’Connor’s. Couldn’t even find a place to park it was so full.
There is a Bugaboo Steak House just down the road from where we live at the White City plaza, so we headed there.
There were lots of parking places there, so we had hope. But, the line was out to the door.
“Maybe we should just go to Stop and Shop,” my wife said.
But, we tried Osaka, there at White City, and it wasn’t too crowded. We sat at a cooking table this time, so didn’t get our usual waiter, but the food was very good, even better than normal. Maybe it was because we were hungry…
It is not my normal experience to find 3 different places totally full on a Monday night. The only thing we could think of was that folks got a lot of gift cards for Christmas and wanted to use them up right away.
