I’ve been having trouble sleeping lately, and last night I woke up about 1 in the morning and had trouble getting back to sleep. I got up and drank some water and then went back to bed.

The only thing I can describe the next bit as was I started to dream before I fell back asleep.
As I lay there in bed, a stream of images appeared to me.
They almost, but not quite, made sense and pasted through my sight very quickly.
Driving on a road.
Two people in a canoe.
A parking garage.
A field under a cloudy sky.
Some times just mixes of colors.
On and on, just a stream of images, some of them moving. The folks in the canoe were paddling it.

It almost felt like there was a story there if I could connect the pieces. But, all there was were images, no connection.
Was I driving to the parking garage to meet the people in the canoe?
Maybe. Maybe not.

It was very strange.
Not bad, although I do wish I had more sleep.
But, strange.

That's called hypnagogic hallucination and is not uncommon. I experience it frequently, which is why I've looked it up.
