When I left for work today the sky was the same color as it was before the eclipse became total 4 years ago.
Not sure I've seen that shade in the time between.

Our friends have asked us to go to Egypt with them. But, they need to know soon.
Not sure about that.
It's a risk 3 of 4 for terrorist activity. That seems high.
Chile, where we went to get to Antartica was only a 2...

Three different folks where I work have come down with Covid this week. That's a lot in a short time.
I wore a mask at the office today.

I'm afraid I'll never get to see Egypt, or really, anywhere outside the US, in my lifetime.

Either can't afford it, can't get enough time off of work, or other things.
also need my passport.

I’m sure you could if you plan it right.
It doesn’t have to be weeks away with $$$$ places.
We’ve done a lot of trips in the dark time of the year when it isn’t crowded. Thanksgiving week takes much less vacation and isn’t a holiday anywhere else.
Even just the 4 days of it are enough to see some things.

But, you do need that passport…

I imagine the terrorism risk has to do with where you are in Egypt, right? Does the State Department say to stay away?

No, class 4 is stay away. 3 is just "reconsider your plans".
And, places on the itinerary are on the State Department's "reconsider" list.
So, it looks like it is off for now. Maybe some other time.
