Moving the bucket

My wife has this week off and has been doing a big cleaning of our apartment as I sit in the middle on conference calls for work.

In cleaning our bathroom, she moved the big orange bucket that has sat there since the end of last year.

It was in the bathroom because back towards the end of December last year I was so sick with Covid that I could not stand long enough for even a minimal shower.

I’ve broken both ankles, toes, feet, poured liters of boiling liquid into my shoe and had food poisoning more than once.
All of those times I was able to stand in the shower stall long enough for a shower.

But, not 5 months ago.

Moving that bucket out of the bathroom and off to our storage room was a big deal to me. It’s been many months now since I needed it, but I still hadn’t even touched it as it sat to the side in our bathroom.

But, today I moved it away.
I’m willing to say it’s over and not worry too much about tempting fate.

It is tough being reminded of just how hard it hit me.
How close it was to kicking the bucket, not moving it.
Glad it ended the way it did.
