Last night I dreamed that my father and brother showed up at our apartment to help me clean up the place.

I agree that our apartment is pretty messy and a year of working at home has not made this better.
But, this was unexpected for several reasons.
First, my father died more than 20 years ago.
Second, I haven’t seen my brother since our father’s memorial service in September 2000.
So, I didn’t expect them to come into the apartment and start moving things around to organize it.

My wife and I each have a home and work computer. Plus we’ve got plenty of other electronics too.
But, my brother was just yanking out cords to unplug things so he could move them.

"Don’t do that!" I shouted at him. "The computers need to be shut down, not just unplugged!"
He yanked out another one.
"Quit it!" I shouted. "You’re going to damage the computers and that one belongs to the company I work for!"

He pulled the cord.
I pushed him over to the side and he landed on the chair where my wife normally sits.
I slapped him across the face as my father shouted at me to stop.
I lifted my arm for another slap and could hear my father coming up behind me.
(Dream ends)
I woke up as my wife rolled over in bed and her arm hit me across the top of my head.

It was very disorienting to be hit in the head as I was in the middle of a fight in the dream and it took me a minute to realize that my wife accidentally hit me in real life, not the ghost of my father for my hitting my brother.

My wife was very apologetic for "bopping me on the head".
It so strangle fit in with the dream that I remain a bit confused about it.

But, I’m typing this on my computer, and it is plugged in. As are all the other electronics in the living room. And, there is no sign of my brother or the ghost of my father…
