More death

I just heard my Uncle Jack died this morning.

I haven’t seen him in about a dozen years. He’s on my mother’s side so the side where I’m an embarrassment.

My uncle Jack was often the trouble maker of the family. He was one of the major fighters in the fight that broke my mother’s generation of siblings apart.
Over money. Stupid reason.

But, before all that when we were young, Uncle Jack was the one who took me along on camping trips with his family. Took me fishing down at the beach. His kids were for a very long time the cousins I was closest with.
I have a lot of happy memories of me, my brother and his daughter and son all playing together.

Granted the fight between our parents meant I missed seeing them at all between ages 14 and 30. And, only rarely after that.
But, the younger memories are still good.

I have to say, I’m not a fan of this week.
I normally complain that this time of year is full of bad things for me.
But, this year is out doing itself so far.

Sorry for your losses. This year isn't starting out any better than the last one ended.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Way too many people have lost family and friends in the past year. =(
