At lunch I went over to the supermarket at the top of the hill where I live.
As I was planning on buying most of the week’s worth of food, I brought a lot of bags.
I picked a shopping cart that had been sitting out in the sun and scrubbed the handle with one of my wife’s diminishing supplies of bleach wipes.
I loaded up the cart with my reusable bags and headed into the store.

“You can’t bring them in here,” a woman at the entrance told me.
“What?”
“Governor Baker says no reusable bags allows in the store.”
“Charlie Baker cares about my bags?”
“As of yesterday, reusable bags are banned from the store.”
“But, I’m using your app to scan my own groceries and put them right into bags. No one who works here will ever need to touch them.”
“Don’t care. Take them away.”

On my way back to the car I expressed to myself my feeling on Charlie Baker’s law against bags.

But, when I got back to my car I found that my driver’s door was wide open. I guess when I closed it, it hit the seat belt buckle and didn’t latch. Then, the wind blew it open.
So, if Charlie hadn’t sent me back with my bags, my car would have been wide open the whole time I was in the store.

You win this round Charlie!

(And, since I scanned it all with my phone, I just left everything in the basket and put it in my bags at my car when I was done…)
