Playing with and adjusting the lightsabers

As reported about our trip, I made 2 different lightsabers while at Disney on vacation:

And, I bought the paired Asoka ones too.

The ones you screw together don’t always line up 100% depending on how well you screw them together. Even when I made them, the guy helping me said "I can see you’re one of the people who cares about this, so we’re going to do our best".
Today I went and made spacers out of rubber bands for the parts to get them to align better. I had wanted to use plumbing seals, but everyone sells complete kits for things these days and not the individual parts. So, I may order some on line. We’ll see.
Anyhow, at Tom’s last night we were there at dark, so I asked if he would help me play with my new toys.
"Yes!" he said. "Especially if they are what I think they are!"
And, he was not disappointed.

We were very careful and light in contact with them, but still had a lot of fun.

Tom and I have been sword fighting together for 16 years, and are of similar height and reach. So, we’re pretty evenly matched in things. He’s a big younger, I’m a bit more trained. But, it’s pretty close.
We discovered an interesting thing.
The person using the Asoka lightsabers won.
Every time.
Didn’t matter which of us was using them, the results were conclusive.

Don’t know if it is the curve, the weight, the grip or what.
But, it’s an interesting discovery…
