Not practice photos
Sep. 16th, 2019 03:30 pmYesterday, instead of our usual Sword Troupe practice, we decided to go to the street festival in the city next to us. They had sword acts, and turned out to have fire too, so we could look at what they have.
It was a very nice late summer day.

As my wife and I had some time, we went out for brunch first.

Then, put stuff in storage.

Then, off to the Start on the Street festival in Worcester.

We normally go when their first open, but in the afternoon it is much more crowded.

Certainly lots of folks selling food.

Lots of shops too.

There were other sword fighting groups.

We walked to the far end of the festival where we said we’d meet other folks and then found a place in the shade.

There were some interesting dances that came by. They really seemed to like the bridge.

We watched. Even planes flying past watched.

Then, we saw what was clearly a fire performer getting ready.

They were clearly working with the fire department. They seemed easier to deal with than some of the ones I’ve dealt with, even with safety line problems.

Our folks were very interested to see someone else’s act.

I was surprised to see the event folks brought a contract as they were ready to go on. Talk about waiting for the last minute.

There was a live band across the street, so I didn’t think her speaker would cut it.

It was an interesting act.

Afterwards we had out planning meeting for upcoming shows in the shade of the park.

We waited for the second fire show and saw some issues with her ring.

Everyone was very excited.

She did light things in an interesting way.

As she did the ring, one of the buns fell off.

But, the show went on.

Then, a second bun came off and went off into the crowd still alight.

They did chase it and bring it back.

The fire department guy was quite firm in saying "no more of that".

They then spent several minutes figuring out what went wrong before going on with the show.

But, they did continue.

Then, back down the length of the festival to our car.

I did stop in the middle of a intersection for a photo of being in the middle of the road.
This woman decided she wanted to be in it too.

It was a nice day.

But, there was a pokemon at home when I got there…
