Questions of business practices

After the kids left, I went to back up all of my photos and found I had filled my backup drive.
I looked around and found one for a portable 4TB drive for $149.
As that is 200,000 times bigger than my first hard drive for 1/5 of the cost, that seems like a good deal to me.
But, I saw if I bought a 43GB memory stick at the same time, I could get both for a total of $99.
Just the hard drive costs $50 more.
So, I’ll get the -50$ memory stick too.
It reminds me of an encounter at one of those burger chains a few years ago.
“I’d like a burger,” I told the speaker outside.
“That will be $3,” the speaker said.
“Your sign says 2 for $2, so shouldn’t it be $1?”
“Only if you buy 2.”
“So, I can get 2 for $2, or 1 for $3?”
“Yes.”
“Same burgers?”
“Yes.”
I got 2 and left the other in the lunchroom with a “free” note stuck to it.
Maybe whoever came up with that is the one now working at the electronics store…
