Sunday morning I found out why the birds in the park expect food from people.

It’s not the big flying things overhead.

One of the things Ray and Ryan wanted to do was go to Cambridge. I agreed if they would drive me to the town my family came from 400 years ago.
They agreed, so off we went.

It is nice countryside you drive through.

Navigation was a bit trickier.

There were, eventually, signs.

The town is very small. And, Ryan did not realize he drove through it until after he had come out the other side. His attempts to turn around got us down smaller and smaller roads until we had to turn around and go back.

But, we got back there.

It’s a nice enough town.

I did look through the church yard some.

We didn’t got in.

And, I didn’t want to keep the others waiting too long.

As we drove away, there was a strange sign:
How can you have a sign to a "Secret Nuclear Bunker"? Doesn’t the sign preclude the secret?

But, we continued on.

To Cambridge, there was a highway, so we took that.

The van did not fit well on the streets.

We parked in a parking garage that gave a nice view of Cambridge.

We set off through the streets and saw a lot of interesting things.

Ryan want to see the Mathematical Bridge so we walked down by the river. There folks were aggressively selling boat rides.
We figured it was easier than walking, so got on a boat tour.

A man named Mike polled us up and down the river for about an hour.

I was glad someone else was guiding our course.

The folks who rented the boat seemed to be having some sort of contest involving running across boats with cushions. Don’t know what that was about.

We sailed away from all that.

We did see the bridge Ryan wanted to see, and many others.

And, lots of sights along the river.

With only a few navigation issues.

At least the water was well below flood stage.

These folks lost their poler, but he gave them a shoe?

Don’t know what was going on here…

The boats did get close together and did ram fairly often.

Then, we went off to the Fitzwilliam Museum.

They had an aggressive railing to prevent climbing.

They had seals, which I do like.

Nice sword collection too.

Paintings of folks with swords.

And, benches!

And, they had a shop.

I did wander into the Italian section and the guard gave me a tour of the pieces she thought were the most interesting.

There was a focus on the items rather than the stories of the folks. So, between these two displays there was a collapse of civilization that wasn’t mentioned…

Then, back across England to Stevenage…
