Strange dream

I dreamed that our godkid’s uncle Roger invented something like one of those things they attach to cars that keep they from driving away.

Unlike current boot/clamp things that police use on cars, this one was inflatable, connected to the door of the car and looked something those inflatable emergency ramps airplanes use for emergency evacuation.

The other unique thing about them was that instead of clamping to another place on the car, or something along the road next to the car, they linked to the Gates of Hell.
It went off from the door and sort of twisted out of sight.
I was told that it was simple to detach them. You just went through the Gates, turn around and unhooked them from the inside.
Most of them stayed on.

Roger, holding certain grudges, went around attaching them to police cars and locking them in place.

My wife and I have family in law enforcement.
In the dream it wasn’t clear to me if it was my cousin, my wife’s cousin or my wife’s uncle who came to me and said:
"He’s your friend. Go talk with him and get him to stop doing this."
They handed me one of his inflatable locks. It was in a cardboard box with a photo of it attached to a car on the front.

"I can give it a try," I said. "Where is he?"
"He’s waiting just inside the Gates."
"Oh."

I stood there trying to decide it I was willing to walk into Hell to talk with Roger about this or not.

Our godchildren Uncle Roger has been in and out of prison for years. Their mother strongly disapproves of Roger, so he is never spoken of in their home.
I never know if they are aware of his time in prison and such.

I used to visit him in prison when he was in one near where we live.

His brother and his brother’s children I consider as much of my family as any of the folks who just happen to share my genetic material.
And, Roger is a very charismatic guy who it is hard not to like, despite his activities.

But, I’m really unsure about this walking into Hell for him…
