Playing computer games: FOR SCIENCE!

A few years ago, the folks at SETI came up with a way to process all the signals they had. They made it a screensaver and let folks do it for them while their computers weren’t doing much else.
I guess the folks studying how proteins fold in amino acids heard about it and tried it themselves. But, folks kept telling them “I can see that it’s wasting time folding it wrong. Can’t you come up with a way I can make it start in the right direction?”
So, they made it a computer game.
When the WOW severs are down, as they have been a lot this week, I can waste time and help SCIENCE at the same time.


(Note, per my department regulations SCIENCE must be said in the way from the Thomas Dolby song “She blinded me with SCIENCE”. As I like the song, and am a big fan of Thomas Dolby in general, I don’t mind.)
