October continues to be a bad traffic month…

This week the moon was rising just as I was leaving work.

Wednesday it was full. That’s the night I have to work late, which complicated some things. But, not too badly.

There are some times this time of year when the sun behind the trees makes them glow in colors. Hard to capture in a photo, but I tried.

Sometimes the sky does it without the trees.

Tuesday my boss took the department out to lunch to celebrate him being happy with us.

But, testing continued.

Thursday some of the software people were dressed as penguins.

This let me get home before the sun was totally down.

It was because Thursday was the halloween party for the kids of employees. Some folks decorated more than others.

I put candy outside my office in a cardboard box, and everyone seemed just as happy with that without spider webs, skulls or the rest…

Saturday we were scheduled to do a private fire show at a big party that has hired us several times in the past. The problem was the remnants of a hurricane were supposed to go over at the same time. The good news, there was going to be a dip in the chance of rain just for our show.

Friday looked good.

We went off to game night where my wife asked us to assemble her new "chaos staff".

Between the artist, two engineers and the Phd, we got it together.

It’s got a giant electrical arc at the top that ignites the fuel that it shoots out the top.

The instructions were covered in warnings about how to hold it, how not to hold it, and how it might just explode. But, my wife likes it. Scares the heck out of me...

Afterwards, we went in to play a seasonally appropriate game.

Lots of the undead were ready. (That isn’t even all of them…)

We fought them off.

Not everyone joined in…

We beat the zombies.

Saturday was certainly rainy.

And as we drove off to the show, it didn’t look very good.

In Hartford a double trailer truck hit a bridge in the rain. Not good.

The rain did let up some, but the clouds were still low.

The party was at this guy’s house.

As it was a private party, where most of the guests were friends of his teenage daughter, I don’t have a lot of photos of it.

The rain mostly held off, but it was certainly a damp and windy show. (About 5C, windy and rainy is no where near the worst show we’ve done…)
At least he let us use his garage to store things before and after.

As we were doing a show last night, we called off practice for today.
My wife and I went off and had a nice brunch at a place near us, and are spending the rest of the day doing laundry, cleaning and watching TV.
I’m OK with that…
