So, it was 25 years ago today my wife and I got married.

There are some questions about just how fast we circle the galaxy, or how fast the galaxy is moving through the rest of the universe.
But, based on various sources, I’ve got us at 9,082,160,692 per year.
That would mean in 25 years we’ve gone 9,082,160,692 as husband and wife. (Even my trips to China or her’s to Indonesia in that time don’t really change that number much…)
Light is, of course, much faster.
So, even with all that we only come out to having gone 0.0386 lightyears.
Now, anyone on other planets with really good telescopes could have been watching. The light is now 25 light years out there. Or, the now of us getting married is now 25 light years away.
Trying to figure out just how many folks with telescopes could be watching is surprisingly hard.

So, as much as I liked that day and wouldn’t mind going back, I have trouble getting even the 4% of a lightyear to where it was.
That’s the real problem with time travel. You’re going 288 miles a second. Even a small jump and you’re far underground or up in space. Difficult to manage, even in my Prius.
Anyhow, despite folks telling us we should, this year we have not rented a castle for an anniversary party. Or, had a party at all. We did that for the 20th, and it was fun. But, this year we’ll just go out to dinner.
As long as we’re together, I’m happy.
