It was a strange road to this show. Back in March when we were doing a show at a University near there two folks who said they were the organizers came up to us and asked us to do the show.
We said "sure". That’s what we normally say.
As it was a charity event, we agreed to do it for the price of 1 hotel room for 1 night for the family of glass who lives 2 states away.
Then, months of nothing.
Finally emails from someone totally different who knew nothing about what we did or were promised or anything like that. They talked about how new they were at this, how they’d appreciate advice on how to do things, and really appreciated our help.

So, there were some questions about what we were going into and what it would be like. Got the impression the folks running it were fairly young…

But, last Saturday morning we showed up.

It turns out the new folks running the event were great grandparents who had been running events for decades, just not renaissance faires.

They set us up near the front and let us do our thing.

We did a lot of our historical stuff.

Tom was very into practicing his whip. All day. Both days.

I know he wants to do the fire whip and needs the practice. But, it is repetitive.
Eventually, he’d get tired.

And, he still hits himself in the head fairly often.

It wasn’t a big event and didn’t have big crowds.

But, they had a constant stream of people so ended up with several hundred each day. Not too bad.

We did do a couple of stage acts.

It’s been a while since we’ve done "Saint George and the Dragon.

Others were also tired.

Even the puppets were tired.

But, we did spend most of our time at the tent doing shows as folks requested them.

The faire ran until 10PM Saturday night. But, the fire marshal required way more than any we had ever encountered in 16 years, 15 states and 3 countries. So, no one did fire.
The magician didn’t care.

Those of us who normally do fire did.

We spent the night with our friends about 45 minutes from there and then drove back in the morning.
Nice views.

It was a nice enough day. And, a pretty enough spot.

It’s a park where a river surrounds 3 sides.

Our friend Laura that my wife does the fairy things with was also there. (She and her husband are who we stayed with Saturday night.)

Some of my wife’s stuff even sold.

Some of the folks there were….
I’ve talked about people who you get the quack instead of the ping from.
We discovered there is another level past quack. Demon moo. (From World of Warcraft demons…)

But, we did our shows.

Tom cracked his whip.

And, a good time was had by all.

One of the kids of glass thought he saw a beaver by the river, so folks went to look.

We never saw it, but there was a tree that looked chewed.

The faire ended at 5 on Sunday, so we were back on our way home before dark.
