Friday morning we checked out of the hotel. They were happy to hold our luggage for us while we went back into the city.

So, back on the train, and then tram to the museum area.

There was a line, even with tickets for a certain time.

The Van Gogh museum does not allow photographs in it. Sad.
It allowed the when I was last there 5 years ago: https://fbhjr.livejournal.com/797840.html
Nice view from the stairwell.

Once done in the museum we enjoyed the park some.

Then, we walked over to the Rembrandt memorial in Rembrandt square. It’s a bit of a distance, but we decided to walk.

But, we got there.

They have a statue reproduction of the Night Watch.

(Remember how I told my wife she couldn’t avoid seeing it?)

Then, we caught a tram back to the train.

We took the train back to the airport.

I went to pick up the car, but couldn’t because my passport was still in storage at the hotel. So, we went and got our luggage, then back to the rental booth. The woman felt bad about making me walk half an hour in the hot weather to get my passport, so upgraded us to a Lexus at no extra cost.

Then, off to Germany.

Driving through the Dutch countryside is like driving through some of the paintings.

With windmills.

And, traffic.

The nice thing about the European Union is you just drive into Germany, another country, without needing to stop at all.

After we had checked in at the hotel we went to a restaurant around the corner for dinner.

The weather was very nice. Not something we’re used to.

Also, being fairly far north and in the west of Europe, the sun didn’t set until almost 10PM.
Google said it was a short walk between the hotel and the museum.

Google does not mention the stairs.

But, we climbed them.

We did stop by the museum just to make sure we knew where it was for the next day.

Nice view down to the rest of the village.

We could see into the museum yard where we’d preform the next day.

We did walk around a bit too, looking for an ATM machine. The only one in town was broken.

My wife liked that you could see the light shining in one window and out the other of the church.

There seemed to be some sort of Citroen festival going on in the town square.

But, eventually the sun went down and we went to bed.
