Strange dreams

My first dream, probably brought on by political debates last night involved John McCain’s plan to deploy US forces to Desolace
Almost everyone I knew was against it. We agreed that the folks down in Mannoroc Coven were summoning demons, but the Plaguelands needed the help much more...
Most of the dream was TV news coverage from Desolace...
My second dream involved my wife and me taking the sword troupe to a water slide park. We had been told this park was the best in the north east.
It appeared to be down the hill from my aunt’s cottage where I spent my summers growing up.
When we got there, it seemed to be a lot like the pool from my high school, down to the blue painted cinderblock construction.
The manager of the place made me sit down in his office while he explained the rules we’d have to follow for having such a big group there. (There were about 6 of us there in the dream.)
He seemed particularly insistent that “everything be kept in a locker”. We were to bring nothing with us into the water slide area as it could get left behind, tripped over or broken.
While he told me all this, a line of people going in went past that was much larger than our half a dozen people.
We went off to the locker room to change. The lockers were very small, about 1 cubic foot, so it was very hard to get everything in there as instructed. But, I did.
When we went out to the slide area there was a pool about the size of a backyard pool with a frog shaped slide along the side of it. The slide was about as tall as my hip. The place was mostly empty. There was a guy with a net on a pole fishing things out of the bottom of the pool.
“I expected more,” my wife said to me looking around. The others agreed with her.
“It’s closed,” the guy with the net said. “You have to wait until we’re done cleaning it.”
“We paid a lot to come here,” I said to the guy. “Is there something else to do while you clean it.”
“Not my problem,” he said, stirring up something that looked like mud on the bottom.

Date: 2008-10-04 02:21 pm (UTC)I think makes a lot of sense and relates directly to experiences and difficulties we've experience as the troupe in nearly every single performance.
rules and lockers and group size = the myriad of rules and restrictions we're made to follow to appease the event/organizer, meanwhile other groups/people are blatantly violating those rules because they think they own the world (i iz a soordfytah!)- and how we do our best to accomodate, and then our own expectations are cut short, as well as our 'reward'
the cleaning guy easily represents the wrenches we get thrown at us at events.
the location being near your childhood place represents our "focus" region being here in New England/MA
