I’m worried about our trees

Two weeks ago, this was the state of the trees outside our apartment.


This is them today.


The caterpillars are still eating. Yesterday is was so loud you could hear them chewing.
And, they don’t eat it all. They eat through a section, and then that drops to the ground. So, there is a litter of half eaten leaves all over.

So far it is the oak trees. They are leaving the maples alone.
But, once they finish the oaks, who knows what they’ll eat next.

It’s very sad as the trees only put out leaves once a year. So, even if the tree survives this, it won’t get new ones for 11 months.
I am very sad about this.
