Gulf Coast Renaissance Faire in photos
Mar. 8th, 2018 12:31 pmWednesday night we got the van. I had ordered this van when I thought we’d have 6 to 7 people with us. But, we ended up with only 4.
I still kept the bigger van. It is horrible on gas. But, we had lots of room.

Thursday morning we did a show for

We stopped in Connecticut to pick up our newest member and continued south.

Or tried to once we got back to the highway…

But, there is always traffic in CT and near NYC.

It is nice that these days when the traffic stops, I can check the phone and see how far it goes.

And, soon we were going along the Hudson river.

Then, across the bridge to lovely New Jersey.

Lovely New Jersey rolls by in about 2 hours.

Then, over another bridge to Delaware.

There were avians auditioning for a Hitchcock movie there.

Was we got towards Baltimore and Washington DC, it became apparent that getting through would be difficult.

So, we stopped in to see our godchildren. Their dad made us dinner and everything. It was a great stop!

Then, back on the road where the traffic had abated.

(Yes, that is world cigaret headquarters in Richmond Virginia…)
By the time the sun rose, we were in the south.

I’d rather tell by green grass and flowering trees than Atlanta traffic, but all signs were there.

But, it was nice and warm.

We were very happy to see the person who does the faire layout was back on her feet and recovered enough from chemo for her hair to grow back.

We were a bit worried when a huge cloud of smoke showed up on the horizon.

It took us a while to realize it was at least a dozen miles (20km) away.

It didn’t come out way and turned out to be a controlled burn. But, we watched just in case.

We picked up Tom at the airport, pizza for everyone and got to bed early.
Having been up for 36 hours and driven for 26 hours, I had no problem sleeping.
