Overdue week in photos

Last week we had sword practice. I guess I forgot to mention that…



Although above freezing, there was still a lot of ice.


We found strange cakes at the supermarket, but didn’t try them.


Nice sunset though…


The week was warm and wet. (Warm being 2 to 3C as opposed to -10)


As objects were still cold, this resulted in a lot of ice on things.





My car was freaking out again. I’m starting to worry that something is wrong with it.


The days are longer. That’s nice. The sun comes up just as I get to work.

And, there is still some light in the sky on my way home.


Friday we had asked our friends if they were doing a game night, and not heard back. So, we went off to the Worcester Art Museum for their flora in winter exhibit across the colored bridge. http://www.worcesterart.org/events/flora-in-winter/




As I write about every year, they have florists match pieces of artwork with flowers.


Some, I don’t see it.




But, some do seem like a good match. Either as a companion piece or invoking a similar theme.






Sometimes it’s hard to know which one it goes with.


Turns out it was this one.


I thought it was good with this one too…


This one was my wife’s favorite.


This one seemed very far off. A short rectangular box with a tall thin plant?


Some are just decoration and don’t go to any particular piece.


My wife liked this one as it is the seasons from left to right. (Starting with winter.)


This isn’t part of the exhibit, it is scarves they sell in the gift shop.

It did save me last year as I said "how interesting" and the woman near it said that she had done the flowers next to it. I hadn’t been overly impressed with them, but hey, she was happy…

I’m not sure this has anything to do with the museum, but it’s good thought.


This one was for the armor, not the pointy things behind it. Think they missed that…


This year they went back to decorating the bathrooms, which I think is nice.



We had sped through the museum to go get dinner afterwards and not have it be too late.


As we were picking up our dinner we got a call from our friends saying "why aren’t you here at game night?"
We explained we had asked and not received confirmation of the event.
But, headed over there for a late arrival.


We played the zombie game. Maybe not a good game to start late as we didn’t finish until 1AM.



We did win.


Saturday I did a LOT of laundry and then we set off for the comic book store.

I like the mural they’ve added to the building.


Then we met my aunt and her husband for dinner.


He’s in the nursing section of the home now as a few weeks ago he collapsed and hurt himself doing so. (This is the second time he’s broken his fall with his face…)
So, we weren’t sure if he would be able to get out for dinner. But, he did.
He was surprisingly quiet for him. None of us minded.

Then, we brought him back to the nursing section.


We went back to my aunt’s apartment in the regular section and had a nice visit.


Today more sword practice. My wife and I still aren’t feeling well. Her less good than me.
We’ll see how it goes.
Maybe this time I’ll remember to post photos…
