Being sick makes it harder than normal for me to sleep.
I’ve never been good at sleeping. Often don’t manage it well at all.
Being sick makes this worse.

And, between some of the cold medicine and the lack of sleep I get weird hallucinations/waking dreams and such.

The other night I woke up about 2 in the morning convinced that all of our living room furniture had been replaced by totem poles.
It got to the point of my going to wake up my wife to show her before I said "wait, that isn’t the right style for our furniture".

Tonight about one in the morning I woke up convinced our bedroom had been hit by a meteor, the apartment collapsed and I was buried alive.
I tore off all of my bedding trying to get out from under what only turned out to be my blanket.

I know, my nose was blocked and I couldn’t breathe. My mind came up with something to get me motivated to breathe so I’d live. I’m OK with that, even if I don’t like the panic reaction it gave me.

I know, that doesn’t explain the furniture into totem poles.
But, it did wake me up and get me moving.

I’ll be happy when I get over this and just can’t get songs out of my head and things like that keeping me awake.

sorry this cold is doing this to you.

Many cold meds give me the vivid weird dreams too I usually end up taking something to keep away a fever and then using Vicks Vapor rub and squatting a saline solution up my nose to clear things up. You may not be able to use vicks because of the strong menthol scent.
