Pensacola: there and back

Wednesday we picked up the van.

It had terrible gas efficiency. But, it held a lot of stuff.

Thursday we did a quick show at a home school, no photos of that due to privacy issues.
But, it was very windy. So, to leave the road out had to be cleared.

The wind was enough to raise white caps on the small lakes in the area.

We stopped to get our guest star at our place and only worried a bit about the police waiting.

Assuming that this was not a way for folks to ditch the police and run to Florida, we took off.
Soon, we were in NYC.

Then across the bridge to New Jersey.

Then across another bridge into Delaware.

Then, another bridge and Maryland. I let other folks drive from there south.

It was certainly dark by Baltimore and the tunnel.

Through the night there was only one issue. In North Carolina the police shut down the road for a while. Never did find out why…

By dawn I was back in the driver’s seat.

It was a foggy morning.

Then, another river and Alabama.

Then, our last highway south.

By about 11AM, we were there:

We were happy to see Sadie about, even with her chemo going on.

Then, lunch.

After lunch we set up the tent.

The ring was a bit more of a problem.

Some practicing even happened.

Then, we closed up for the evening and went to dinner.

The faire happened, but that will be other posts.
Then, Monday morning we got up early to head home.

The weather had been nice and we enjoyed the last of it on the way home.

We found a very rare drive through Subway. But, we went in anyhow.

There were a lot of trucks on the road.

Some only slightly on fire.

There was lots of anticipation for the Peachoid.

The sun set as we were getting to North Carolina.

I’m not saying dogs were driving…

There were lots of late night gas stops.

We got to NYC about 3:30

My wife took over for the last leg of the trip.

And, soon we were returning the van.

Of course, we’re not really home until we go to O’Connor’s and I take over the gym there.

Then, back across the lake to home.

It was good to be home.
