Senior Year Meme...

I finished high school in 1981.

1. Did you know your spouse?
Nope, we met in 1983…

2. Did you carpool to school?
I often rode the school bus. But, was frequently bullied so often opted to walk the 5 miles. At least on the way home when I had more time.

3. What kind of car did you have?
I didn’t get a car until I got my first job out of college in 1986. My parents "gave" me a car in 1985 for my senior year of school, but took it back when I wouldn’t stop dating my (now) wife. So, I don’t count that.

4. What kind of car do you have now?
A 2012 Toyota Prius C.

5. It's Saturday night... where were you?
I almost always worked Saturday nights.

6. What kind of job did you have in high school?
I worked at the local supermarket. Usually bagging groceries at the register.

7. What kind of job do you have now?
Mechanical engineering manager for robot medical freezers.

8. Were you a party animal?
Not then.

9. Were you a cheerleader?
No. I hated anything along those lines.

10. Were you considered a jock?
I was on the swim team and did fairly well at that. But, I don’t know anyone who would say that made me a jock.

11. Were you in band, orchestra, or choir?
I quit orchestra in junior high, so no.

12. Were you a nerd?
Yeah.

13. Did you get suspended or expelled?
No. Never even sent to the office for anything.

14. Can you sing the fight song?
To the best of my knowledge there wasn’t one. I certainly never heard it.

15. Who was/were your favorite high school teacher?
Mr. Pender helped me out a huge amount. Mrs Saltmarsh as well.

16. Where did you sit for lunch?
With my two friends in the cafeteria.

17. What was your school's full name?
Westwood High School.

18. What was your school mascot?
If we had one, I don’t know what it was.

19. If you could go back and do it again, would you?
No.

20. Did you have fun at Prom?
I worked the night of my prom and didn’t go.

21. Do you still talk to the person you went to Prom with?
I haven’t seen or talked with anyone I worked with then in decades. But, didn’t go to the prom, so no.

22. Are you planning on going to your next reunion?
I’ve not been to one yet. Don’t plan on starting.

23. Are you still in contact with people from school?
One of my friends is on my facebook. But, I haven’t seen a post from him in years, so maybe he de-friended me…

24. What are/were your school's colors?
Green and white.

25. What did you do on senior skip day?
I never skipped school. We had a senior trip. It was to a beach.

I feel so bad because so many have had bad high School experiences.

i was lucky to live only a block away from senior high school.

in jr high riding the bus was a freaking nightmare. bullying, FOOD being thrown around, bus drivers who didnt care what happened behind them. ugh. me and a friend started walking together rather than continue to ride the bus. it was only 2.5 miles for me to walk though. and we were happy to walk it and avoid those foul bus rides.

I used to get spit on a lot when I road the bus.
Can't say I liked that.

The lead bully was the son of a bus driver, so all the other bus drivers let him do whatever he wanted.

Sometimes it is better to walk.

I am uncertain whether I actually graduated from high school. I had the credits, but quit before graduation.

I did graduate from college...
