I’ve downloaded this new Pokemon game.
One of the premises is that if you walk around you’ll find them. In
theory, the more you walk the more you find.

So, yesterday I walked about 2 ½ miles (4.2km) looking for them.
I found a bunch.
But, only 2 were more than 0.15miles(0.25km)

Over the two days I’ve had the game, I got the vast majority of them within
my apartment complex.

And, they’re popping up at work.

While most are on the other side of the building from where I work, they’re
in the lunch room next to the candy machine!
I’m glad it is encouraging me to walk, but I’m not sure that should be my
destination.

And, one was found in my office as I sat there and showed the game to a
coworker.
I didn’t even have to get up from my chair!

When I went to the doctor yesterday, she was very clear that I should walk
more. So, I’m willing to do the walking for that. But, it isn’t clear to
me that walking helps this game.

Some of the volunteers at the animal shelter are saying that we should put a lure out there to get people to elk by the shelter and maybe get them to come in and adopt. Not sure if I agree with that,
but it is clever.

Apparently 1 shelter charges $5 to rent dogs to walk, and they are sold out!

So long as you don't do it while driving! I know so many people who are trying to catch them while driving, it's making me crazy to hear the stories...

I like Pokemon, but I don't really like the idea of having to walk for a game, so I'm not terribly unhappy that my phone won't run it.

The one on my phone crashes if I start walking again before the whole cycle of catching one finishes. So, I honestly don't see how you could do it while driving, even if you wanted to.
And, I don't want to. I agree with you that it is crazy dangerous!

You walk to hatch the eggs, either 2.0km or 5.0km. First you have to put them in an incubator. But it doesn't count distance if you go over a certain speed, or if the servers are having issues. I walked over 5 miles yesterday and it only registered .7km. I was going to walk anyway, but it would have been nice to have it counted for my game. Oh well.

I'm still kind of relieved that for the first time the Dr. had more complaints about you than me!

The big thing about walking in the game is incubating the eggs. You have to walk because driving doesn't count for distance.

Lures and incense only up the amount of pokemon you find in that space by very little. We have tried both and it was underwhelming.

A lot of the gaming stores and comic book stores around here are using lures, and getting a lot of traffic, but I don't know if their sales have gone up.

There's a lure (module) on the Gym at one of the local marijuana stores...

I don't play, but I've read that if you have eggs, you have to walk to hatch them?

Yes, and the eggs often (but not always) give a Poke you don't have.
