Blowing to cool off…
Jul. 7th, 2016 08:20 pmAfter letting the circuit breaker cool off all last night, we turned it on this morning and it was still running when my wife left for work.
Sadly, not when we got home.
Getting out my infrared camera, I could clearly see the difference between the normal circuit breakers that are all about room temperature and the the AC one that is higher.

So, it gets too hot. Clearly what is needed is a supply of cool air. The problem is the breaker is in the back of a closet in our spare room, and hard to get cool air onto it.
I tried one solution.

But, it turns out that even when set too "cool" it still puts out some heat and made it worse not better.

So, the exhaust of my small shop vac.

Hey, vac has ac right in the name, right?
That worked.

And, so far it has been continuing to run while the air blows on it.

I just have to make sure the shop vac doesn’t overheat. That could be bad too…

Tomorrow I'll call the landlord and have someone come fix it. Sad. We don't like folks in our home...

Date: 2016-07-08 01:11 am (UTC)could you bring home a small container of liquid nitrogen to put in the closet ;p Maybe a cooler filled with ice ad close the door...but that would be a lot of ice.
I also hate having people in the house as all my access panels and door are in the bedrooms.
It is actually cool enough here that I had to shut the windows, but that could just be an ocean thing. Hope it is cooler where you are

Date: 2016-07-10 03:09 am (UTC)I don't like random people coming in my home either. I've got to know the handyman that my real estate uses and he's quite nice so I don't mind him too much now.
