This week’s practice

There were doves outside our window again today. I don’t know if they are the ones that had babies there this spring, the babies come back or a different set. I can’t tell them apart…
But, they might well be making a new nest…


Our apartment complex is about equal distance to a medical school and a veterinary school. So we get a lot of students staying here working on being one kind of doctor or another.
You can tell when the school year ends.


Pollen was very bad again today.


My wife was happy that at the practice grounds her favorite flower was in bloom.


But, not a lot of folks were there to appreciate it.


We had hope when a car pulled in, but it was just a friend of the folks who live there and rent us their lawn and garage Sunday afternoons.


Eventually John did show up.


It is still not clear if he can do the June show with us in New Jersey. But, we’re practicing just in case.


When we got home, I couldn’t find my camera. We searched all over for it. I knew I had carried it up from the car, but couldn’t remember what happened to it when here. It wasn’t where I thought I had put it.

Eventually I found it in a red bakery bag near the front door.

I guess I must had dropped it, kicked it across the room into a bag that was facing the other direction without realizing it…
Or, we have pixies that hide things.

Pixies actually seem more likely to me than I made a bank shot off the snow shovel behind the door from ten feet away without either my wife or me hearing it bounce around and land in the bag…

Yes, the lack of people at practice, or summer jobs who have hired us to perform is a big problem for Phoenix Swords. But, I can do more about a lost camera than that.
So, I found the camera.

We have gremlins. They hide stuff. They mostly give it back when yelled at, though there's one pair of earrings that has been gone for years...
