Week in photos
Apr. 23rd, 2016 07:14 pmThis week the pollen was at the level where you could use a windshield wiper on it.

Sunday I went over to

Despite the pollen, it is nice to see things turning green again.

And, the leaves are almost out on the trees.
It happens quickly.

Thursday:

My new place of work now has turkeys in the parking lot.

I doubt this is from the old place more than an hour drive away and they missed me and followed me.
But, I can think that, right?
There are some who think I keep too much caffeinated soda in my desk at work.

Those people don’t know that I had bought it two days before this and that isn’t the peak level…
Of course, the big thing this week is the little birds on our balcony.

They are growing up very fast.

Friday evening they were all happy with their parents in our window box.

Saturday morning they were gone.

The parents were still around, but not the chicks.

It turns out they are now up to the level of being able to fly short distances and were over in a corner of the balcony that is hard to see from the living room.

I am very happy they are OK.

I guess the parents feel safe enough that they both flew off for food leaving the little chicks there by themselves.

I thought it very cute that after their parents had been gone a couple of minutes, the kids jumped back in their old nest to wait.

By Saturday evening the whole family was back. (The second chick just wouldn’t stay in shot…)

And, video of them. No sound as there is always a window between us.

Date: 2016-04-28 12:39 pm (UTC)I love the birds. Baby ones are always so fuzzy and dorky looking. I don't think we have those mourning doves in Australia but we have similar ones. There are some that come to my yard and they make a wooHOOhoo sound.
