It was a nice sunny day, with blinding bright snow on the ground.

So, we set off to the Chinese restaurant we often go to on weekends.

They were having a special New Year’s event.

It was hard to get in. I didn’t know they did reservations or I would have made them.
But, we did get it. It isn’t normally a problem on Saturday, but New Years…

And, they were having dragons.
Everybody likes dragons.
Even guys who work there and come in on their days off to take photos.

The dragons started outside.

You could see them if you lifted the blinds…

Most folks went out to see them. But, we waited knowing they would come inside.

And, bring their big drums.

And, they did.

Lots of folks came to see them.

Then, back out into the winter for the supermarket.

The snow is piked up pretty high.

Even with Valentines weekend next week, the store seemed more concerned with Saint Patrick’s day and Easter.

The, back home.

"blinding wet/melting snow" yeah, indeed. But glad it's melting more or less, rather than a new-foot-each-weekend like last year.

I love the Chinese dragons. Hope the food was yummy.

I was at the supermarket a little while ago and it was mobbed with people buying food for Superbowl. I did pick up some Irish bread as they also had a big St Patrick's Day display.

stores are always ahead of the game here too.

As a child I always used to go out with my family for Chinese new year but I haven't done it as an adult. sad.

That looks so fun with the dragons. I don't think Chinese restaurants do that here really ...

Not very many do here.
The Mandarin, where this was, planned it for months and has had signs up about it since Christmas.
That's one of the reasons it was so crowded.

Oh, how neat! Happy New Year! My Chinese horoscope for this year is looking better than the last couple of horoscopes. lol. At least, it's fun to say Water Rat. =P
