The shortest day of the year started for me with a big sunrise.

Near where I work is a Chinese restaurant that reminds me of the ones from when I was a kid. Most of the ones around here are buffets these days. Not this one. Still has the fancy decorations too.

Monday night we went to the Revels with my aunt for her birthday.

I guess it was my aunt’s 79th birthday. I had thought it was 80, but she’s not exactly honest about her age. And, never has been. She was 29 for almost a decade when I was young…

cosmicirony had helped us get good tickets as they donate money to them.
They also got a backstage tour and they were nice enough to let us tag along.
No photos of that.
It was very quick, but VERY interesting.

The costume director was apparently hoping for questions as when we walked past she said "no questions for me?"
I probably could have spent quite some time talking about them. But, time was short so I just said "No questions, just a comment that they are FANTASTIC!" That seemed to make her happy.

The show was fantastic. It’s always good. But, this year seemed particularly good.

Normally when we got to Florida the temperature drops a good bit.
This year, the predictions were for the opposite.

We were skeptical of this, but it turned out to be true. Record heat from home to Florida.
