We got out of Salisbury and headed south west.

The rain was off and on, but the views were nice.

Eventually the roads began getting smaller and smaller.

And, we got to the town where the giant is supposed to live.

We saw signs all over.

But, my wife found the giant naked man.

He was up on that hill.

I don’t know…
I guess he is impressive.

So, we got back in the car for what Google said would be a 4 1/2 hour drive to north Wales.

As we left the giant we saw a sign that said "furd". I think it was a sign that was supposed to say "ford", but someone pointed out the top of the O.
We wondered what the sign meant.
But, soon found out.

Yep, a place where your car had to ford the water.
And, it had been raining all day…

But, we made it across and continued north.
Eventually we reached the M5. Being a Star Trek fan from way back all I could say was "M5 MUST live!"

Nice views.

We stopped at a rest area and had some nice meat pies for dinner.

It seemed like everywhere we went the same display of sweets was there.

We never bought any, but you have to give it credit for trying.

Sadly, the M5 did not live. There was some sort of horrible accident on it and we spent a lot of time just sitting there.

Google diverted us up through Shrewsbury (not the one we live in that is on a different continent) and through what is supposed to be very nice countryside when it isn’t dark…

As we were going through some hills we got some rain, then hail, the snow. It kept going back and forth between the three.

The car started beeping at me that it was cold enough for slippery roads.
Tell that to the ice we’re driving on.

It also beeped at odd times to say "you’ve been driving a long time, take a break". It didn’t seem to be a set amount of time, or miles. No idea how it decided it.

Anyhow, we finally got to The Imperial Hotel in Llandudno.
Very nice.
Big bathrooms with steam heated towel racks.

And, somewhat historical chairs.

Either way, we were glad to get there and went right to sleep.

Sounds like a pretty fancy car to tell you to take a break.

I once lost a car trying to drive through a big puddle. The engine got water in it and the car was ruined.
So, I was pretty worried about this one as I had no idea where in the rental car they had placed the air intake.

But, we made it across. Yay.
