My wife loves stained glass. And, stones on top of stones.
So, what could be better than the Salisbury Cathedral that has both?

So, setting out into fluctuating weather we set off from Stonehenge.

Again, nice drive and only about 10 miles away.

We parked in a large car park along the bank of the river Avon and started walking to the cathedral.

Then, through the town.

There it was.

You don’t go in these doors.

The entrance is around the back.

Nice place.

Lots of stained glass and decoration.

My wife did like that.

I’ve never seen a baptismal font like this anywhere else. Four streams. How many do they do at once?

I’m told this is the worlds oldest clock that is still working.

Lots of tombs right in the cathedral floor and walls.

I guess lighting is an issue.

You’d think they could get electric lights these days. But, tradition…

My wife is an AV person from way back. So, of course she stopped at the audio system for the cathedral.

Then off to the side cloister where the Magna Carta is kept.

You can’t take photos of the Magna Carta. But, it is VERY nice for a 900 year old document. Very cool.

Then, back along the Avon to the car.

Apparently, this is where cupcakes go when they die…

I thought this "tourist information" sign that pointed into the river a bit less than helpful.

After all, this duck did not know anything about the tourist information on the area.

They were big about swimming against the current.

But, finally, we found our car again.

The problem them became getting out of Salisbury.

Nice town. Hard to leave.

Not that it isn’t easy to reach your car and try. But, unclear signs and an almost useless Google meant we went around twice.

But, eventually, we made it out!

I'd love a photo of it.
Now they let you take photos in the same room. Last time I was there they didn't even allow that.
