I know it isn’t stones piled on top of each other, but one of the things my wife has been interested in seeing for a long time is the Uffington White Horse:

It is fairly close to Swindon. Or, Swindon was the closest place I could find a hotel.
So, after a REALLY expensive breakfast, we set off.

Google led us down a lot of very small roads. It was foggy and raining, so hard to see much. But, what we could see looked cool.

We passed a sign for it, but Google said "keep going!" So, we did. Down a very small road.

But, at least it was steep, uneven and wet.

From what I can tell, the horse was just up the hill to our left there.
The road circled back to the car park that the signs had pointed towards. So, we got out and looked.

From the parking area, the hill with the horse was less than totally visible.

So, we crossed the field.

But, the clouds and fog thinned and we could see it.

I’m sure when it isn’t as damp it is a fantastic view of the surrounding area.

It seems like a very nice area.

Look! There I am with it in the distance!

When we went back to the car park a woman was riding through on a horse with some hounds following. Seemed appropriate.

Then, we set off back down the narrow roads.

No, that’s not where they are narrow…

Yeah, that’s it.
But, eventually we got back to bigger roads and headed off to our next destination.
