I basically stole set of family photos from my grandmother, since I had no chance of getting copies from my mother and I figured I deserved them. I feel badly about the way I did that, though I think the results were justified.
It has been hard for me to recognize that my mother hated/hates me. I am not fond of the way my daughter has chosen to live her life- but I sure do not hate her!
The level of entitlement that our parents' generation has is pretty pathological.
