That dam wedding

Her parent’s garage is what we rent for the sword troupe practice area, so we drive over this dam to get there many times a year. But, it is the first time we’ve stopped and got out.
The bride arrived in her father’s car. I guess they were the first folks there.

The actual ceremony reflected them being outstanding in the field.

It is a very nice place.

But, looks aren’t everything.

My very first memory is of a camp stove like this. I don’t seem them often.

There was a pavilion and a big tent set up for folks.

Although 2 days before it had predicted rain, there were only a few clouds.

For the main event, everyone got to be outstanding in the field.

There was no music, so a bunch of folks sung the "here comes the bride" theme.

They seem happy with how it went!

Then, the reception!

They had a pig for dinner.

(Not quite a toast, more of a salute.)
The best man had handcuffs.

(Does anyone else see foreshadowing there?)
The bride knew how to get out of them.

I walked over to look at the dam.

It’s 50 years old this year.

I have never seen it get anywhere near this deep.

As I said, I’ve driven over it a few hundred times, but never stopped to look.

It is a very nice view.

We sat with
There was a squirt gun theme. We mostly watched others get involved.

The father of the bride seemed quite taken with his squirt gun.

The bride herself took more of an overseeing role in the water battle.

Some of us were more interested in cake.

They were little cup cakes. Quite nice.

As we said our goodbyes, the bride and her father were opening a bottle of wine he made and bottled the year she was born.
From their reaction, he had the fermentation part right.
