I also went through the phase of "liking" yard work as a kid to growing to despise it. While living at home after college, my folks weren't pleased with my refusal to do the work at first but my folks do like 'puttering' in the yard, and dad was also always looking for a mechanical advantage and gone through a couple of devices to aid/speed the process.
Raking leaves didn't seem as big a deal to me as say mowing the lawn, as then it's in the hot summer, instant allergy attacks, and bugs. And heat. I mentioned heat right? Leaves? Not so much, and the smell is nicer. But bagging them is annoying and of course the moment you're "done" more leaves had fallen, etc etc.
Shoveling snow is the worst, but, that's pretty much unavoidable.
…Glad the Empire managed a win! My tactic was to try and distract the other force so you could focus on the objective. I'm bummed I couldn't have stayed longer. Looking forward to the next game session.
Sorry about the car. Ouch. But it is nice to see gas prices going down a little bit.
