For the past few months, it has been a bit difficult for me to focus on
things particularly close to my face.
A few weeks ago I bought some of those off the shelf reading glasses they
sell at the pharmacy near us. No prescription, just basically magnifying
glasses you put in front of your eyes.

At work today I popped a button on my shirt and had to borrow a sewing kit
from one of the administrative assistances here.
Her kit didn’t have one of those needle threaders and I had to thread it by
hand.

I couldn’t do it until I took out those reading glasses and put them on.
Then, no problem.

So, today when I am 50.6635 years old I needed to wear glasses to get
something done.
I’ll grant you only until I got that needle threaded, but I couldn’t have
done it without the optical help.

(OK, I wrote this yesterday, but forgot to post it when I got home from
work. Just another sign I’m old…)

I lost my ability to threat a needle 3 years ago. Sad. I now need bifocals. Sad. Maybe Trifocals when I go for new glasses at Christmas

:(

not looking forward to going back to glasses.
(I had them from grade school to high school and by then refused to wear them b/c of self confidence issues, then got stubborn and felt I'd been able to see just fine without them)

Mine have been bi for over a year. However, I see close up much better without them. Sucks getting old.

I feel you! I just can't thread needles anymore. Heck, I can't read the information on little bottles without a magnifying glass. I sure do feel old.

You should check with your optometrist to see if you need glasses that are better than the pharmacy ones. Picking out your own Rx is a crappy idea.

I agree. Sadly I have been having trouble arranging an appointment.
