Yesterday was well above freezing (60F/15C) so a lot of snow melted. Although today was only just above freezing a lot of snow is sill melting.

This means mud and lots of it.

As with last week Tom and Jose showed up. Jose could only stay 30 minutes, so didn’t do a lot. But, Tom worked on a bunch of things.

In a couple of weeks we’re doing a class on "Sword fighting in the time of Shakespeare" for a science fiction convention at a women’s college.
I can’t afford to buy enough swords to teach 12 people at a time. So, we’re working on substitutes.
We tried dowels and they work fairly well.

But, we need to do better daggers because using our fingers isn’t doing it.

On the way home we noticed that since they built the new bridge they have totally removed the old. I’m not sure if they’re building another one in parallel, or if we are always going to be deflected off to the side…

Date: 2014-03-17 11:03 am (UTC)So, we are using the dowels. First pass seems good.
The real question is: would chopsticks work as daggers?
