Croissants and the museum

Today we decided to go to the art museum with ravena_kade.
We met her at the subway station and drove over to the Swiss Bakery in Allston. You know, the place with the cow on the roof.


It isn’t in Boston, but it is close.


I guess it is certified to be the most Swiss bakery in the Boston area.

I had no idea you could get certified for that.

But, then over to the art museum.


They’ve gathered their impressionists up into a special exhibit.


Ever since that Doctor Who episode with Vincent van Gogh I looked for science fiction villains in his works.

I’m pretty sure that’s a cyberman being chased by a silence wearing a wig.

Don’t know what that’s about…

The museum has a lot of Monet paintings.
It looks like early on he was in focus


But, I guess he lost the focus somewhere.


My wife and ravena_kade liked this one.


I like looking at the renaissance ones for costume ideas for the troupe.


This one I thought was interesting.

The guy’s hand seems very strange to me.


I liked this one a lot too.

But, mostly as I like the story of it.

I liked this one because this is where I caught a train back in September. The city has changed a lot since then.


We walked through the modern art wing too. I’m not sure about a two meter tall cheese grater.


But, that’s modern art for you.


I did like the modern art bench.



The coffee cups glued to the ceiling is a bit strange.


We did go to the special "Think Pink" exhibit.


There was a lot of pink.


there was one I thought blue_micha might like.


I did like the shadow the doors made on the floor.


After the museum we went out for Chinese food and then took ravena_kade home to her place by the sea.


Then we drove back along the water.


We saw folks who had a boat as bit as big as their house.


As we headed west it was clear the good day was coming to an end.


By the time we got to the supermarket it was starting to rain.


When we came out the temperature had dropped 10F/5C.


So, as nice as the day was, it was good to get home.

wow. you managed to grab a pic of a Van Gogh i actually like. i'm actually in mild shock. ;)

They had an explanation there that pink was a color for both men and women until the early 20th century. But, no longer.

I don't know. But, it makes it easy to find when we're driving there.
"Should I take this left or the next one? Never mind, I see the cow!"

There were a few Renoir paintings there as well. None that caught my eye to photograph.

it's ok. :) more would be amazed if they'd done an Impressionistic exhibit without a few Renoirs. ;)
