My wife snores when she sleeps.
A lot.

We once had some folks staying over with us. They were in the spare room down a short hall with our room and their room both closed.
In the morning I was asked: "Did you get up in the middle of the night and watch Flinstones cartoons?"
"No, why?"
"I’m sure I heard that cartoon type of snoring in the middle of the night and didn’t know what else it could be."
It was my wife.

She and I have been together for more than 30 years now. So, rather than bother me, it actually comforts me to hear her snore.

As discussed elsewhere, next month I’m going on a trip for almost a week. Normally I don’t sleep well when away from home. (OK, normally I don’t sleep well anywhere.)
And, I am particularly bad at sleeping in cars, planes, trains or anything else moving.

So, I had the thought of recording my wife’s snoring so I could listen to it when away. Maybe it will help me sleep.

Over the last month or so, if I couldn’t sleep I’ve recorded her snoring next to me.
Today I edited it into a 5 minute "best of" mp3 for my iDevices.
(This actually took far longer than I expected. It used to be very easy to do this with earlier versions of the Apple software. Now it is much more difficult.)

Anyhow, my wife thinks this is a very strange thing for me to be doing. She said I should ask others to see if it is weird.

Sometimes at 4 a.m. when I am running my brain I'll match my breathing with the husband's and fall asleep. It would have been nice to have that when traveling.

yeah it's a little weird, but whatever. whatever works to help you sleep, and, it's what comforts you. Can't argue with that

+1, no, actually +2 on the weird factor - but, if it does actually help you to sleep, and you won't be playing it on loudspeakers for everyone else to hear, then go for it!

My wife also snores - it doesn't help me to sleep and can keep me awake for longer than I like, but I tolerate it.
I also snore sometimes - my wife doesn't tolerate it.

You have enough sleeping issues, if this will help ease them. More power to you.

I suck enough at sleeping that if I found something that would lull me to sleep, I'd totally do it.

I'm single so I can't relate but my mum always says she can't sleep if my dad's not snoring next to her ... ;-)

I can completely relate. Todd had to work last night and was suppose to be home by midnight. I kept waking up to find him not next to me.. he ended up not getting home from work until 6am!

I also have to have a fan on no matter what time of the year it is. When I was in Seattle for work I ended up either sleeping with the TV on or found some sleep music on youtube and let the ipad play until I fell asleep.

Long exposure on a camera and the lit screen of my cell phone.

I love to hear my sister Marilyn snoring -- I find it very comforting!

I think it's WONDERFUL like you like it!

when you are used of hearing a noise when you sleep then of course you would find it difficult to sleep when you don't hear it.

We both snore, and it is weird when J isn't here snoring beside me. I guess he feels similarly, since he sleeps better with me than without me.
