I’ve had a fair number of people friend me in the last few days. I’ve seen
some of them posting introduction posts that seem very interesting.
But, I really have no idea how to do that myself.

I’m certainly happy to talk about things in my life, past, job or whatever
if folks are interested. But, I fear being too boring to just type out a
whole bunch of that based on what I would think is interesting.

I do feel like doing something as a way of introduction.
I’ve been told it is impolite to talk about politics, religion or sex.
So, I’ll start with those.

Let me know if there is anything else you’d like to know.

Politics:
I do not belong to any political party. I do read about issues a lot, try
and pay attention to what’s going on, vote when elections are held and
write letters to my representatives to let them know how I think they’re
doing.
But, I don’t have a lot of trust for politicians of any party, side or
ideology.
For me, it is about the individuals more than the party. Does that person
vote the way that I think represents me? If so, I’ll vote for them. If
not, I won’t. I don’t care what party they use to get their money.

Religion:
My father was a Baptist, my mother a Roman Catholic.
I was raised Roman Catholic.
I got kicked out of religious education for asking questions the teacher
said were not appropriate. (My friend at the time had just lost both his
parents and asked why God would let that happen. He got kicked out. I
said he had a good question and wanted an answer too. I got kicked out. We
were about 12 at the time.)
For a decade or so, my wife and I were very involved in a Methodist church.
She was on the board of trustees. I was the head of administration.
We stopped going for different reasons.
Mine was when I was having huge personal problems in my life. I went to
the pastor for advice.
“I’ve got something important to do, can you come back later?” was what I
was told.
My life was very literally falling apart at the time. The “important”
thing was going to the post office to mail something.
I miss it sometimes.

Sex:
I am a male who finds females attractive.
I do not expect this of everyone and as long as things happen between
consenting adults and not hurting others, I really don’t care what other
people do.
I’m not into the various ways of watching people do it either. I’ve got
nothing against it, I just don’t find it very interesting.
I am also not at all interested in paying people to pretend to be
interested in me. So, I don’t enjoy strip clubs or the like either.
My wife and I have been together for 30 years. I am very happy with that.
I’m not in any way saying I don’t still find many other people attractive.
But, that’s a different thing than acting on that.
There are actually very few women I don’t find attractive in some way.
And, it is always because of how they act and has nothing to do with their
appearance.
