Tuesday we set off for the art museum only to find out they are closed Monday AND Tuesday not just Monday as I thought.
Very sad.
But, this is why we left Friday open. that will be rescheduled.
Instead we went to to park to see Art in the Park.

They get artists from all over to put sculptures in the part for a month or so.
This is in addition to the trees.

Some of them are stranger than others.

Sadly the bridges in the park have been closed. Don’t know why.

Some of the art is in the water, and easier to see from the bridges.

Some of it I’m not sure I understand the title.

Some seems very sensible.

This one is interactive and you can sit in the big mug.

There was one still being made. It’s going to be a big acorn.

The artist said she’d have it ready by Thursday. I don’t know if we’ll be back to see.

Some of the art seem to inspire others to become art.

Some just got the kids to examine it more closely.

Then we walked off to the comic book store and the art store. A very nice police man helped us cross the busy road under construction.

I thought we spent a lot at the comic book store and art store. Then, we went into Boston on Wednesday and put that in perspective. But, that’s another story...

The bridges are closed due to the replacement of the stones around the pond.
Sounds like you are having a full, fun, tiring week.

they do this in Houston, too. And some "art" is just confusing. I got yelled at in the Menil because I set my purse on what I thought was a plastic table. It was "art" and they very nearly threw me out for my transgression...

wow - what an interesting exhibit - do the kids enjoy art as much as you do?

I'd love to know the answer to that question...

They seem to like it. But, they are nice polite kids too. Gabriele is very much into art these days, and certainly likes the sketch book we got her after going to the park. She hasn't stopped drawing in it since.

They did seem interested in some of the pieces in the park. But, how much do they really like it? I don't know.

It is too bad I can't hire you to come over and judge as you have a lot more experience with kids at this age...
