Memorial day cookout
May. 26th, 2008 08:57 pmBecause two troupe members were getting married Saturday, we didn’t have our usual practice.
Instead, we had people over to our place today.

Our apartment complex has grills and picnic tables near the basketball court, and we used them from time to time.
I did go out and clean them off first. I don’t know what was crusted on it, but didn’t want to eat it.
After some trouble, I did get the grill going.

My immediate family never grilled growing up. I don’t mean not often, I mean we didn’t own a grill. My father said he had enough of cooking on a fire when in the army, and never wanted to do it again.
My uncles would do it occasionally at the beach when I was growing up. But, how it got done was never explained to me.
So, there is an air of mystery for this stuff for me. I think my wife knows, but one of the promises made when we got married was that she would never have to clean the grill. That seems to extend to cooking on it too.
Anyhow, I did manage to cook a bunch of food on it.

That’s actually what was left after the 8 people there ate. So, I think there was enough food.
We did go through the scripts for our up coming shows.

One’s going to need some rework, but the others should be good to go.
The plant sex has been really getting to me this weekend. Hopefully they’ll be done and taking a nap afterwards soon.
