Saturday adventures
Jun. 9th, 2013 08:44 amSaturday I went off to work some. It was still raining. The good news for that for me is it gets the pollen out of the air. And, the little flowers are falling off the trees, so pollen season is coming to an end.

By the time I left at noon, the rain had stopped and it was a much nicer day.

My wife wanted to buy some pants for her costume at next week’s shows. She checked the hours of the shop on line and we drove the 45 minutes over.

There she found the sign “be back Tuesday” on the door.
We know the folks who own this shop. I don’t like them. This has not changed my opinion.
There was a river that runs behind the place and my wife wanted to go look at that.

Maybe due to all the rain, the river was really going.

You could see how it once generated power, but now does not.

It’s a nice spot.

We stopped at a sea food restaurant for lunch. They said they had deals for folks over 20. I’m over 20. I’m more than double that. Or, maybe I read it wrong...

The restaurant crosses the boarder between towns. You can drink alcohol on one side, but not the other.

But, we just had soda, so it didn’t mater to us.
When we got home, we found dueling neighbors moving out.

We did manager to get around them and park.

Date: 2013-06-10 12:07 am (UTC)I have many memories of being in that mill: the smell, the sound and feel of one's feet creaking on the wooden floors,
etc. There was also a Scale model shop in there for a while, and an art/poster store - so there were two places I could spend time while waiting for mom to come off shift
(as I'd get dropped off from school as the bus route to home was down 20). There was also a locally beloved Ice cream place called Cowabunga's.
Also fond memories of the falls out there, which is very nice. Much more grown now than
from 15+ years ago.
Sorry to hear the place you intended to go was closed.
