Sword practice in April

The buds are out on the trees and the flowers are starting to pop up.

Sadly this means pollen for me.

The way my allergies work on me is they drain my energy. The more stuff in the air, the less energy I have. It’s just like pulling the plug on something.
So far this year it isn’t too bad. But, I still feel like falling asleep in the middle of the afternoon.

But, in three week’s we’re presenting a paper on rapier fighting at the University of Massachusetts. So, we’ve got to practice.


We did have Jose drive the 40 minutes to practice with his son to say he couldn’t stay at practice today...

I like Jose, but not always the best at thinking these things through....

blue_micha also brought by her new three wheeler.


Her parents seem very supportive of her getting it.

At least if they get a chance to use it too...

But, really, we did sword fighting practice.


We’re doing a comparison of a German manual and Italian manual, both written in 1570.


My wife was glad some of the folks were wearing the T-Shirts she got them.


After practice we went to the local pizza place where my wife found out how large the “Colossal Fries” really are.

Wow, Blue's 3-wheeler is pretty darn cool!
There are a grwoing number of them up this way. hopefully I'll have my own 3-wheeler (bike with sidecar) running this summer.

It is a shame they can't make some sort of air filter mask for allergy sufferers. That and I wish my Mother's allergies made her sleepy. She just can't breath right.

Jose's Baby is really cute.

I love the 3 wheeler. Very cool. Is it street legal? Or just and off road type of thing?

They (Can Am Spyder) are classified as motorcycles in most states, though they cannot tip over like a bike can. A number of aging motorcyclists with leg issues are converting over to these machines - they are quite fast&sporty!
