We got going about 10AM and headed out of Kentucky.

It is a very scenic drive.

I do wonder about how much crack is there if they have Crack Pros.

Soon, we were saying good bye to KY.

It was apparently smoggy.

I didn’t see it.

But, it didn’t stop us from crossing the river into Ohio.

I have to admit I would have liked a few more days of vacation in KY, but I am also very happy to have a job to which to return. So, I waved good bye and we continued north.

The police were out in force in Ohio.

We did stop for gas in a small town in central Ohio. The clerk there was obviously bored and I got to hear 10 minutes about his favorite iPhone case.
It did seem like a good case.
“Soon” we were across the state and getting back to Interstate 90 which runs from Boston to Seattle and a few miles from our house.

Of course, where we got on was 500 or so miles from our house. And, northern Ohio seems to be under construction.

We did see a Waffle House within sight of Lake Erie and the Canadian border.

But, I have proven in the past that they may be the same chain as down south, but in Ohio they can’t make good grits. Even the ones in sight of Kentucky are too far north, much less the ones diagonally north across the state. We didn’t stop.
We did pass the place we had stopped on the way over.

We didn’t stop.
We got into New York and were sad to find the first rest area was 40 miles past the border.

I wanted to stop but kept going through the nice country side.

We did finally stop and have dinner at the rest stop between Buffalo and Pensilvania.

Even though about as far away as you can be in the state from the Statue of Liberty (400 miles), they had a lot of them.

We went past the place where we had tried to stop on the way out.

We didn’t stop.
It is still near the solstice, so it stays light late.

We got to Albany about midnight. Albany is 2 hours from home.
Our bed was calling, so we continued on and did not stop.
We got home just before 2AM.
The sun had gone down.

It was a very good trip and we had a great time.
Next vacation, a few more days.
