Dream or hallucination?
Jun. 25th, 2012 11:46 amLast night I had a very strange experience.
I had not slept well Saturday night as I didn’t get along well with the
hotel bed. Sunday we did 3 historical shows, 2 fight performances for the
main story, then packed up and drove 6 3/4 hours to get home.
After my wife and I went to bed, I was lying there in the dark with my eyes
closed and began to see things. I think it was a dream, but I don’t think
I was asleep yet.
When I opened my eyes I saw the alarm clock, light on the walls, glow in
the dark dragon and everything seemed normal.
When I closed my eyes, I saw what I had been seeing.
“That’s funny,” I said. “I don’t normally dream while awake.”
My wife said nothing, but might have been asleep.
What I saw was:
A small room that was much like one of those shadow boxes where things are
displayed. It was made to look like a room with fake windows, wall paper
and such. But, it was maybe 5 feet across and 3 feet deep.
Inserted upside down from the top right to the bottom left was a very
narrow Christmas tree.
There were two women in red dresses that looked to be of Victorian type
decorating the upside down tree.
I couldn’t tell if they were people I knew or not. So, I tried to get a
better look at their face.
When I did, the woman I looked at mimed an “oh no!” sort of action putting
her hands to either side of her face. Once she did, her face changed to be
a very Picassoish version of her face and I still couldn’t tell if she was
someone I knew or not.
I rolled over to see if my wife was awake or not. She didn’t appear to be.
I turned back to where I was and shut my eyes again.
The room was there, but empty.
“I must have scared them away,” I thought.
After that, I fell asleep fully.
I don’t think my looking at the clock and such was part of the dream. I
think I was awake with my eyes closed when I was seeing this. But, it is
hard to be sure.
The show we had been doing was at an art village, so there were plenty of
little shadow boxes, and other similar displays. I don’t remember any with
Christmas trees, but my wife had been talking about buying people Christmas
presents.
It was very strange.
