fbhjr: (Hat of doom!)

I had hoped to see the transit of Venus today. But, when I left work it was very cloudy.

As I drove home, it started to clear up!

At the halfway point, it was almost sunny!

But, it was too early for Venus to be there.

As I got home, the clouds rolled back.

And, the sun went and hid just as Venus was supposed to start.

But, there is always Nasa.gov. They’ve got better pictures than I could take anyhow.

This is one of the very rare times I miss working at the museum with the solar telescope. I spend dozens if not a hundred weekend days out there with it pointed at the sun and only had sunspots to see.
This would have been cool with that.
But, it’s been 27 years since I’ve worked there, so I probably can’t just hope the fence and grab the telescope for a look. And, it is still cloudy anyhow.
