Sneaky car
Apr. 26th, 2012 08:24 amOne of the things I think I am fairly good at is not being seen or heard.
I can often get close to people without them knowing it. (Yes, six foot
three, almost three hundred pounds of me.)
It is because folks are usually distracted and I make use of that, not any
inherent stealth ability on my part.
Apparently my new car shares this trait.
My office is at the bottom of a hill. So, I normally glide down the hill
watching my miles per gallon go up as I do so.
As I did this morning, I saw one of the manufacturing techs talking with
the manufacturing engineer in the parking lot. As the tech also drives a
Prius, I thought I’d park mine next to his.
I pulled in next to them and got out.
“Hi guys,” I said.
“Where the fuck did you come from?” the tech asked, twirling around.
“My car,” I said, pointing.
“How the fuck did that get there?” he asked.
“I parked it there.”
“That think is way too quiet!”
“I didn’t think that would surprise you as you have one yourself,” I said.
“When I drive mine, I’m on the inside with the radio going,” he said. “It
doesn’t sound quiet to me at all.”
“I will try to pump up the volume in the future.”
“Thank you.”
