Sword fighting without pants invokes special guest stars

As our performance next week at the Conbust science fiction convention is going to be mostly historical, we did a lot of practicing for the historical show today.
This included bringing people who have not been doing much historical performance up to speed on it.


And, teaching a different set of historical techniques to people.


Trouble struck when I was doing a maneuver similar to this with sickles.


A small hole in my pants that was caused by an errant tent peg while packing for Florida burst open into a 6” gash up the front of my pants.

blue_micha offered to sew them back together, but it would take a while.
So, I decided to sword fight in my underwear.


Just for the record, this is not my plan for the show next week at the women’s college.

But, it did have a remarkable effect. It summoned perrin_o_ravnos. who we haven’t seen at a practice in many months.


He stayed and helped Jose take lessons from me while I was without pants.


Soon blue_micha had my pants repaired.

And, perrin_o_ravnos left for parts unknown.

I’m not sure if sword fighting without pants summoned perrin_o_ravnos or not. But, it was very nice to have him at practice again. Especially as he is very good at helping others with stance and position. So, if it will summon him, I’m happy to take my pants down again. (Especially when it is warm out...)

I do owe blue_micha great thanks for repairing my pants quickly and well. While I can get away sword fighting without pants in front of friends, they certainly wouldn’t have let me in the restaurant afterwards without them!

I've got plenty of shame.
It's a shame I didn't win that $200 million lottery the other night.
It's a shame ....Can't think of anything else.
